Artist Statement Take 2

For my concentration I am exploring shapes, line and compositions through the use of varied mediums and colors. To do this I used canvas, watercolors, a wood burner, and paper. Within the constraints of basic geometric shapes I look for balance. I usually begin with pencil on another material and eventually outline using sharpie marker or a wood burner. I generally start out with one shape and add wherever the composition looks empty. Once the shapes are outlined, I begin to add color and work on maintaining the balance with the color. There is no specific time that I decide a piece is finished. I usually end when the piece as a whole looks complete and balanced.
